FBA Sea freight is usually calculated by weight or volume. For FCL shipments, the charge is usually calculated in cubic meters (CBM), while for LCL shipments, the charge may be calculated in kilograms or tons. In addition, there are other costs to consider, such as customs clearance fees, duties, incidentals, etc.

Overall, FBA ocean freight is a complex issue involving multiple aspects and factors. In order to ensure accurate calculation of fees and avoid unnecessary trouble, it is recommended that sellers consult in detail with the freight forwarder or logistics company before shipping, and make sure to understand all related fees and responsibilities.

Iii. Calculation method of FBA shipping expenses

The calculation method of FBA ocean freight is based on the actual weight and volumetric weight of the goods, and the larger one is taken as the basis for billing. The conversion formula of volume weight is: volume (cubic meter) × 1000000 ÷6000 (kg). For example, if the actual weight of the goods is 500 kg, the volume is 4 cubic meters, then the volume weight is 4× 1000000 ÷6000=667 kg, according to the freight of 5 yuan/kg, then the shipping cost is 667×5=3333 yuan.

Fourth, in addition to shipping costs, the first FBA journey costs of the United States also include the following aspects:

Customs clearance fees: Customs duties and other fees payable when goods enter the United States, depending on the type and value of the goods;

Customs declaration fee: the handling fee for domestic export entrusted customs brokers or freight agents to declare to the customs;

Insurance premium: refers to the insurance cost of the goods in the course of shipping, generally calculated in accordance with the value of the goods 0.3-0.5%;

Towing fee: refers to the cost of transporting goods from the port to the Amazon warehouse, generally calculated according to the distance and weight of the goods;

Other charges: refers to the incidental charges incurred by the goods in the port or warehouse, such as dock charges, storage charges, labeling charges, handling charges, etc. The specific amount is determined according to the actual situation;

Depending on the chosen channel, different channel charges are not the same, such as self-tax channels do not include customs clearance fees, customs clearance fees,

If you choose the package tax, it includes customs declaration, customs clearance fees, inspection fees and other costs.
