Amazon FBA Shipping Guide: Ensuring a stable and compliant logistics experience

2024-05-15

In Amazon's FBA model, sellers send goods to Amazon's operations centers, where Amazon takes care of storage, delivery, and customer service. In order to ensure the smooth progress of logistics process, choose stable and compliant logistics forwarders to enjoy high-quality logistics experience, Shendi International Logistics focuses on stable delivery of cross-border logistics, providing high-quality logistics channels and services for cross-border sellers. Here are some key shipping considerations.

1. Inventory management

Storage management is the core of FBA shipping. Sellers need to ensure that the quantity of inventory is sufficient while avoiding exceeding the shipping limit. Amazon Logistics Inventory Performance (IPI) and the number of items in the inventory limit are two key metrics that sellers should check regularly to avoid potential inventory issues.

2. Package size and weight

Amazon has strict requirements for package size and weight. For example, in the United States site, the outer box size of the product shall not exceed 63.5cm, and the weight of a single product shall meet the requirements of the site, not exceeding 22.5kg. If overweight, a "Team Lift" or "Mech Lift" label should be affixed to ensure the safety of warehouse staff.

3. Packaging materials

Choosing the right packing material is crucial. Sellers should avoid the use of prohibited packaging materials, such as packing tape, nylon fiber tape, etc. At the same time, choose a durable case to prevent damage in transit to ensure that the product can safely reach the Amazon operations center.

4. Label and bar code

Labels and bar codes are the key to product identification and tracking. The seller must properly attach the FNSKU product label and the outer box label. In addition, make sure the origin label "Made In China" is clearly visible to meet the requirements of customs and Amazon.

5. Delivery plan and quantity

When creating a shipment plan, the seller should ensure that the planned quantity is consistent with the actual shipment quantity. In the case of split warehouse, avoid sending only one warehouse and then deleting the shipment plan of other warehouses, which may cause inventory and shipment confusion.

6. Disposal of unsalable inventory

For unsalable inventory, the seller should pay attention to the change of storage fees in the peak season and the off-season, and consider the withdrawal of warehouse to change the label or discard the goods to reduce unnecessary costs.
